Event Details

Read the rainbow! Enjoy novels, memoirs, comics, and more books with an LGBTQIA+ focus. Talk about what you loved (or didn’t) in a welcoming environment and meet readers your age! Each monthly read will be available through the library in print and/or e-book format—secure your copy at the check-out desk! Snacks, reading lists, and a safe space provided; if you can’t join in-person, a Google Meet link will be available for all registrants.

Our June read is This Is What It Feels Like by Rebecca Barrow. Who cares that the prize for the Sun City Originals contest is fifteen grand? Not Dia, that's for sure. Because Dia knows that without a band, she hasn't got a shot at winning... This tender story of friendship, music, and ferocious love asks: what will you fight for, if not yourself?

This Is What It Feels Like is available in print from SCPL locations, and digitally on-demand through Hoopla. Registration encouraged, but drop-ins welcome! This month's meet-up will be a Pride party, with crafts and free books to take home.

For students grades 9th-12th.
