REELS at Glenville Spotlight Cinema Series

Welcome to a new REELS at Glenville film series, Spotlight Cinema, where each series of films we highlight a particular actor, director, or theme. The first spotlight shines on the theme of movies that have had a Criterion release on dvd/blu-ray. For those who are not familiar with Criterion, they have curated many films throughout the history of film that are deemed notable based on artistic technological, or landmark cinematic merit. All movies will start at 3:30 pm in the Glenville Meeting Room, and snacks will be provided on a first come/first served basis. Only patrons 18+ will be admitted. The screening will cover 10 of Criterion's film releases, on the following schedule:

 Monday, October 21st - A Face in the Crowd (PG), directed by Elia Kazan

Monday, November 4th - Cooley High (PG), directed by Michael Schultz

Monday, November 18th - Monsoon Wedding (R), directed by Mira Nair

Monday, December 2nd - Do the Right Thing (R), directed by Spike Lee

Monday, December 16th - Girlfriends (PG), directed by Claudia Weill 

Monday, December 30th - Girlfight (R), directed by Karyn Kusama

Monday, January 13th - Dogfight (R), directed by Nancy Savoca

Monday, January 27th - Citizen Kane (PG), directed by Alfred Hitchcock

Monday, February 10th - Love and Basketball (PG-13), directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood

Monday, February 24th - Dazed and Confused (R), directed by Richard Linklater
