Join the Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Schenectady County Public Library at the Children’s Learning Garden in Schenectady! Enjoy nature-themed stories and hands-on activities that connect to the theme of the day.

Come use up some Yarn to make some yarn pumpkins! 

Fiorella Rojas from Project Growing Minds will be here to read some spooky (child friendly) stories in Spanish and English, as well as other fun Halloween activities! 

Join us for a fun building challenge using a variety of materials, including Legos, Magnetiles, Strawbees, and more. We supply the building materials, but projects will stay at the library, so bring your camera.

Patrons will learn how to paint properly in the gouache style of watercolor painting, through properly loading their brush, using correct hand control, and proper layering with the gouache medium. 

Enjoy fiber arts projects with friends. A presentation and instruction on cabling knitted items will be held.

Bring your current fiber art project to this social group to work on, meet new people and learn new skills. From knitting/crochet to cross stitch, and everything in between, we can help each other begin and complete craft projects.

Beginner crochet class with Michelle. Learn to hold the hook and yarn as you create basic crochet stitches. Supplies provided. Enjoy crochet skills with friends so comforting as cold weather approaches.
