Let’s reuse our containers and make them new again! We’ll have soy wax and various scents for you to try while learning this new skill. Participants should bring their own containers to upcycle for candle making (Acceptable containers may include: coffee mugs, tea cups, tempered canning jars, glazed pottery, seamless metal, and of course, containers that once held candles! Containers that cannot be used include: any type of alcohol bottle or drinking glass, crystal items, vintage glass, unglazed pottery, wood, or terra cotta. All containers are use at your own risk.) We’ll handle the rest. Let’s keep our containers out of the landfill! Besides the contaners, all other supplies and instructions provided by Cornell Cooperative Extension. Participants will each receive approximately 16oz of melted wax, meaning you can fill one 16oz container, 2 8oz containers, or 4 4oz containers. We’ll provide the wax, wicks, and fragrances.
The candles will need to stay at the library overnight to solidify, but can be picked up the following day.
Registration is required.
