Please join us for a discussion of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie.

Agatha Christie’s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is a landmark in detective fiction, renowned for its ingenious plot and controversial twist. Set in the peaceful English village of King’s Abbot, the story begins with the death of the wealthy and well-respected Roger Ackroyd, shortly after the mysterious suicide of a local widow he was expected to marry.

Enter the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, who has retired to the countryside—but is soon drawn into the case. As Poirot interviews a cast of intriguing characters, secrets and motives begin to surface, and the mystery deepens with every page.

Told through the eyes of the village doctor, the novel cleverly plays with reader expectations and narrative structure. It's a classic whodunnit, but one that changed the rules of the genre and still sparks debate nearly a century later.
