Each month we will delve into a suspenseful, cleverly plotted novel written by one of the era’s trailblazing female authors, including Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Dorothy L. Sayers, and Gladys Mitchell.

Through discussion, we’ll explore:

  • The social and historical context of the stories
  • The evolving role of women in crime fiction
  • Classic tropes and innovations in plot and character
  • The legacy of these authors in shaping the mystery genre

Whether you're a lifelong fan of golden age mysteries or just beginning to explore them, this club offers a welcoming space to talk and reflect on the art of the perfect crime — all through the voices of pioneering women authors.

For this inaugural meeting we will discuss which title we will read in November.

Joining a book club is a fantastic way to dive deeper into literature, connect with like-minded individuals, and expand your reading horizons. New book club members are always welcome. Request a copy of the books online or at any SCPL location.
