Event Details
The American Revolution was a political and military struggle against British control and taxation by 13 North American colonies. The Continental Army and state militias seldom numbered more than 20,000 soldiers so the war was fought by small field armies.
While the men were fighting what did the families eat and drink on the farms?
Join the Schenectady Historical Society and learn what foods sustained the army and led to the defeat of the British in 1783. Enjoy some samples and try some switchel!
